Why Ollie Rose?
The name Ollie Rose is our Grandmothers, Olive Winifred Rose, or Ollie as her friends called her. We chose this name for this little venture as it is a name we liked, and it has special meaning to us. I can remember Grandma saying she didn’t like her name though.
Ollie was a pretty spritely Grandma as far as they go so a perfect choice. She didn’t dob me into mum the time I went to the pub underage and there she was at the bar, she was great for tips on who to bet on at the races, and she was always up for a laugh. And I will never forgot the time she tried to punish me, which was going to be a tap from a hairbrush (I say tap as she never could go thru with it), but the site of this little old lady chasing me down the driveway caused us to fall about in giggles, Grandma included. She was always a softie so the threat of a smack really wasn’t effective, as we knew she would never do it.
You probably think being a Grandma and the reason we used the name Ollie Rose that she probably taught us all the old ways of doing things, such as handmaking things or baking. Well you would be wrong, but she did teach us which were the good horses to put a bet on at the races and she could crochet. But if you saw my earlier post on my crochet attempt, you would realise I didn’t inhert that gene.

Yippeee!
I can hardly contain my exitement. New fabrics just arrived from over seas. It is like Christmas! I just want to cut them up and make things! Unfortunately most of them are for spring items so you wont see them for a while.
And like most fabric addicts……..see all that stuff in the background……that is only a quarter of it….I really didn’t need any more! Oh well.
