Something for the nappy lovers!
For the past few months I have been nagging Kobie to design a shirt for cloth nappies. After a very long process sending designs back and forth and changing our minds, 4 weeks ago the designs were finally sent off to be printed, and today I can at last reveal them.

They have come up fabulous, and I am extremely pleased with them. The first stock will be available for sale at Ollie Rose soon, however the numbers are extremely limited. But don’t worry, we will receive the remaining stocks which will be up and ready in time for the Great Cloth Nappy Hunt in March.

Normally I would say these shirts are made ethically and not in a sweatshop, but phew, making large batches of shirts with a hot heat press in my lounge room creates a sweatshop environment for me and there is nothing ethical about putting me to work like that
If you would like to nab one of the first few, send us an email at sales@ollierose.com.au and let us know. They will retail for $24.95 and available in blue sizes 6-12 mths, 12-18mths & 2, and pink 6-12mths & 2 (size 12-18mths is out of stock and will be available hopefully in about 4 weeks time.)

What else to do with a Ribbon Blankie….handy use #95
Besides playing with the tags and stroking the lovely soft minky, using as a bedtime comfort or security blanket, taking when out and about as small portable toy that easily folds into your handbag, looping to a stroller……………use #95 is playing peek-a-boo!

Ari’s favourtie game!
What other uses can you think of? Does your little one love these blankies? Share your experiences with us.

Spotlight on the birds
What: the sweetest little handcrafted bird toy around!

Why: he dangles and dingles, crinkles and rattles, you can pull him and taste him, shake and dance him.Hang him with a link from the car, pram or toy frame. Just cuddle and squeeze him….
Who: babies who love handmade toys that are unique and made with a variety of quality gorgeous fabrics will love him.

Where: find them here
When: right now or until sold out!
He was one of the first toys I made. Excuse the poor picture, it was all I could find, but here is the first one I ever made a few years ago. He was purchased by the lovely lady in the Denham Gift Shop who purchased some of my baby vests wholesale but couldnt resist keeping him for her grandchild. He has changed a little bit since then but the general idea is the same.

Launch of our new shirt range!
For the last few months we have been busy working on our very own line of printed shirts. It is a whole new avenue for us and gives Kobie a break from the sewing machine and to dabble in another area she loves, which is designing.
The shirts feature the gorgeous printed designs of Spike, Ronnie and Farrah on beautiful soft knitted shirts. We are so in love with these new shirts, they are so soft and wear brilliantly.

SPIKE THE DINOSAUR

FARRAH THE FAWN

RONNIE THE RHINO
We had a great day in the park to take a few snap shots of the shirts in action. A big thank you to our very cute and extremely well behaved models, and thank you to our sister, Marnie for her fantastic photographic skills.
Shirts will be on sale Monday, 19th January 2009, there are only limited sizes and numbers available at this stage. For those who don’t want to miss out, they will also be available for pre-order from tonight. Those shirts pre-0rdered and paid will be posted in Monday’s mail.

Splat Snaps are back!
It has been ages since I made these. They were another good project that I didn’t need the sewing machine for. I just kept out some fabrics and supplies from the packing and made them up in the evenings when I was too exhausted to do much else but sit on the lounge.

There are 4 designs currently available on the site but I would be more than happy to make a matching one to an outfit where possible.

Also took a flashback to some made way back when…….

Look how little Sabre is! Barely enough hair to clip back but oh so cute with her Splat Snap! She was 14 months old in that shot. And at 2.5 years below.
Get splatted now!

Itchy Fingers
It has been vey difficult having packed away all the sewing gear in preperation for the big house move. What to do with these itchy fingers that are just dying to do something……..make some cute cards! That way I got to use up some of the moutains of scrapbooking gear I have from a previous life and still get to have my hands on fabric……happy days!
They were used for my goodbye messages to my lovely closest friends in Shark Bay…I will miss them lots!
