On it’s way

Just an update to say that the Ollie Rose shop is on it’s way to Darwin. The stock is packed and in transit to it’s new home. We would like to thank you for your patience as we currently have a delay in shipping as per notices on the site, newsletter and blog.

Not long until we are resettled and unpacked and ready to post your goodies to you. If you have any queries in the mean time we are still here via email of course so drop us a line.

Easter Rattle Spotting

We were delighted to find 2 of our rattles on 2 fantastic sites.

The cute carrot rattles were featured on Style Collective, your lovely one stop online magazine and Fashion Community. I love browsing the interesting pages of beautiful products and articles.

And the rattling rabbits made an appearance on the new and delightful Kid Independent website.

Rag Dolls

Have you noticed the beautiful range of Rag Dolls on site!? We are just in love with this range of handmade dolls by Sue of Baby’s Room. The detail is gorgeous…little lace trimmed knicker bockers, chenille jackets and a pretty head of ribbons or ric rac. The raggy doll face carefully painted and Sue’s choice of fabrics is delightful.

Sue gave us a bit of insight to herself and her lovely business with the following interview.

Tell us a little bit about how your business came about.

I have been sewing and creating things for many years and have sold various items at markets, to shops and then later on I had my own card and gift shop so I was able to sell my items in my own store.  That was ten years ago.

I then worked full time and didn’t have time to continue with sewing and creating.  Last year I started a part time job so decided the time was right to start my business and discovered the internet as a means of selling to the world.

Where does your inspiration come from?

My inspiration comes from fabric and beautiful children’s rooms, I love interior design and decorating and love children’s nursery’s and bedrooms to look bright, co-ordinated and interesting.

Most of my creating comes from Fabric – I look at certain ranges of fabrics and my creative mind starts working overtime, one thing leads to another.

What is the one thing you can’t live without?

One thing I cannot live without is my husband and children and next in line is my sewing machine followed by lots of fabric.

Is there an interesting anecdote about how your business name came about?

My business name was difficult – I wanted something to easily reflect what I do and primarily I want my business to be a one stop shop when decorating a baby’s or children’s name -as I wanted an online store I was also aware of how search engines work so decided it had to have baby in the title  so it finally came to me… BabysRoom.

Of course Sabre was quite taken with them. Exclaiming “I love that one” as I put each one on the chair to have it’s portrait taken. Then I would put the next one there.. “No I love THAT one”…..”No wait THAT one” ! I think it is safe to say she loves them all and we are sure you will too! The hard bit will be picking your favourite.

There are several in store now with more to follow in April after the big move. If there are any you are interested in that aren’t in store now contact us at
